My 4 year old cocker spaniel was in a great deal of discomfort with arthritic joints, unable to stand up by herself or move without my aid and constantly going lame.  She was extremely unhappy and not herself.  She had gone from a spirited puppy to an old dog cuddled in the corner in a few months.  My sister recommended bowen technique and I found Winkie's name via the canine bowen technique website. Tiger and I visited Winkie on New Year's Eve. Tiger had stumbled whilst walking to her house and I was beginning to lose hope she would ever have any quality of life again. Winkie started her magic on Tiger who was completely relaxed and enjoying every magic touch. She did not want the session to end and was asleep on her legs as she was so relaxed and healed from the treatment. We went home and Tiger stood up on her own from lying down and jumped on the sofa - she had not done this by herself for over a month. As the week progressed she managed to walk up the stairs on her own. We've had two sessions with Winkie and all I can say is Tiger has been reborn. She has the naughtiness of the young dog I loved, she runs, she barks and she loves life again. You would never know she'd been ill. Winkie has a fantastic way with dogs and people alike. Her approach is reward based, very calm and understanding. I am so glad I had Winkie as a trainer as she understood and showed me that my dog wasn't being wilfully disobedient, but that he was actually quite nervy. She worked on building his confidence and giving me the tools to do the same. Her knowledge of dog behaviour is invaluable, and her passion for it is contagious! I'm so glad I found Winkie rather than countless other trainers I've seen around, whose 'old school' approach would have left me with a nervous wreck of a dog. Instead, Red is now a lovely balanced and happy dog who is very attentive and listens to me closely. . I am eternally grateful to Winkie for making my life with Red so rewarding and enjoyable.
