Dog Training
Puppy Classes - held in small groups (max 4 puppies at one time) at selected veterinary surgeries. Classes are 1 hour long and run for 6 weeks once a week. The course covers puppy socialisation, house-training, biting and mouthing, suitable equipment, mental stimulation, problem solving, walking nicely on a lead, recall and sit. There is time set aside each evening for individual questions or problems.
1:1 training / behaviour sessions are held either in your home, garden or in the park wherever the problem is. Firstly we spend some time together talking so that I can take a full history and find out what the problems are and what you hope to achieve before we work together on how to progress. Number of sessions required very much depends on the situation and severity of problem. With all behaviour problems it is a good idea to get your vet to give your dog a health check to be sure that the problem isn't health related.
Social walks are held by arrangement to promote good socialisation, build confidence and improve handler skills. On social walks we can look at canine communication, increase our dogs' ability to cope with different situations, teach them how to behave around wildfowl, livestock, horses, deer and generally enjoy our time together. Dogs love to spend time with us and with good social skills and coping abilities we as owners feel confident and happy to take them anywhere.
